About the Image Compressor tool
The Image Compressor reduces the file size of your images by exporting them as JPEG with adjustable quality. This helps your pages load faster, saves bandwidth, and keeps storage usage under control while maintaining acceptable visual quality for most photographs and graphics.
Compression is performed locally in your browser via the HTML5 canvas API, which means that your images are not uploaded to any remote server. You retain full control over both the original and compressed files.
How to compress an image effectively
- Upload a PNG, JPG, or other supported image using the file input.
- Use the quality slider to choose a JPEG quality value (lower values give smaller files).
- Click Compress Image to see a preview and an estimate of the new file size.
- Download the compressed JPG and use it on your website, app, or social media.
