Your dates are used only in your browser. They are never sent anywhere or stored.
How to use the age calculator
- Choose the date of birth.
- Leave the second date on today, or pick another day to see the age on that date, such as for a form, an event or a future birthday.
- Read the exact age in years, months and days, plus the countdown to the next birthday and other facts.
How is age worked out?
Age is counted in whole calendar years, months and days. The calculator finds the last birthday, then the whole months since it, then the days left over. For example, someone born on 15 May 1990 is 36 years, 5 months and 1 day old on 16 October 2026. The totals for months, weeks, days, hours and minutes are measured from the same two dates.
Good to know
- Hours and minutes are approximate. The calculator does not know the time of birth, so it counts each full day as 24 hours.
- Leap day birthdays: for people born on 29 February, this calculator counts the birthday on 28 February in years that are not leap years. Some places use 1 March instead, so check the rule that applies to you for legal purposes.
- Calendar: it uses the standard Gregorian calendar, the one used almost everywhere today. Dates from before it was adopted in a country may differ from the historical records.
- Time zones: only dates are used, so the result does not change with the time of day. “Today” is your device’s current date.
- Some countries count age differently for traditional or official purposes. This tool shows the usual international way.
Is it private?
Yes. The calculation happens entirely in your web browser. The dates you enter are never uploaded or stored, and this tool needs no outside libraries.
