Good to know
- US or UK? A UK gallon is about 20% bigger than a US gallon, and a UK pint is about 20% bigger than a US pint. Check which one a recipe or label uses.
- Cups: this tool uses the US customary cup (236.588 mL). Metric cups used in some countries are 250 mL, and the US nutrition-label cup is 240 mL, so results can differ slightly from those.
- Fluid ounces and ounces: a fluid ounce measures volume, not weight. This tool does not convert between volume and weight, because that depends on the ingredient.
- Rounding: results are shown to about 10 significant digits. Very large and very small results appear in scientific notation, such as 1.5e-9.
- Numbers: you can type commas, such as 1,250, and negative numbers are allowed.
Is it private?
